Auburn Symphony is a non-profit, 501c(3) organization, whose mission is:
“To enrich and engage our community across all generations through the gift of music.”
Placer County’s premier community orchestra is led by renowned Maestro Ryan Murray, and today boasts approximately 70 of the most accomplished musicians in the region. The Auburn Symphony is recognized as one of the best community orchestras in the country.
The Auburn Symphony is widely recognized for its focus on educational outreach; performing special concerts designed for the over 6,000 elementary school students who delight in what is for many, their “first” musical performance experience. Educational Outreach >>
Board of Directors
The Executive Director and Symphony Staff help coordinate the efforts of the Board of Directors, a group of accomplished community members who are passionate about fostering the connection between music and the community and are elected to serve the organization. In addition to the Board, the Auburn Symphony depends on its volunteers to help support the needs of the organization and the musicians in all sorts of ways including ushering at concerts, coordinating fundraising events, providing refreshments to the musicians, event logistics, and so much more.
Educational Outreach
In our modern society that is filled with electronic gadgets, cell phones and computers, music is needed more than ever – to connect across all generations, and to inspire creativity and human connection to the art form of music. The Auburn Symphony is widely recognized for its focus on educational outreach; performing special concerts designed for the over 6,000 elementary and pre-school students who delight in what is for many, their “first” musical performance experience.
The profound impact these outreach programs have on our community’s youth is immeasurable;
some will be inspired to become musicians, music teachers, and most importantly some will begin a lifetime appreciation of classical music.
