Symphonic Sounds for Seniors
Our newest offering to the community, Symphonic Sounds for Seniors, provides a small ensemble for independent and assisted-living residents in local retirement facilities. The 30-to-45-minute program is developed with “patient-preferred repertoire” in mind.
Sharing Music in our Regional Living Facilities
As people age, mobility, transportation, health, and living arrangements can make attending concerts and community events increasingly difficult. Seniors living in assisted and independent living communities may have fewer opportunities to experience live professional music and participate in the cultural life around them.
Access to new experiences, curiosity, and human connection should not diminish with age. Live music can create a reason to gather, listen, reminisce, engage with others, and experience something outside the routine of daily life to improve mood and wellbeing.
Coming Together
Through direct partnerships with senior living communities. Activity directors and facility staff connect us with residents and provide the space and support needed to bring live performances directly to them.
Building Trust
Ongoing relationships with facility staff and residents creates trust, repeat engagement, and greater community investment in the Symphony’s work.
Patient Preferred Programing
Selecting pieces of music that will resonate with the intended population to encourage engaging performances that get toes tapping and faces smiling.
