Mahler: Symphony No. 2 (“Resurrection”)
Every year, the Auburn Symphony invites you to travel “down the hill” with us to the acoustically spectacular venue, the Robert & Margrit Mondavi Center for the Arts at UC Davis. On this grand stage, we present larger orchestral works bringing in special guests, choirs, and other unique programs.
This year we will perform one of the greatest masterworks of all time: Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, known as the “Resurrection Symphony”. Truly one of the great achievements in Western music – this symphony stands above the rest as one of the biggest, most exciting, and most moving pieces you’ll ever hear. We will be joined again by the Music in the Mountains chorus, and we’ll put one of our largest orchestras ever on the stage to bring this incredible symphony to life in the beautiful acoustics of the Mondavi Center!
A bus is available for transport to and from Auburn (the Auburn Public Library parking lot at 350 Nevada Street, Auburn) for guests who would like to sit back and enjoy the ride with no parking hassle! Bus departs at 1:00 pm.
