Our Family Concert is always a favorite – this time we’re performing Peter and the Wolf, narrated by the always-charismatic Omari Tau. It’s a great way to introduce kids (and grown-ups!) to the instruments of the orchestra. We’ll also hear from this year’s Young Artists Grand Prize winner, Sumanth Ganga, performing Creston’s Sonata for E♭ Saxophone, and we’ll perform Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances, Op. 46, no. 8, and Op. 72, no. 2, and end with What’s Up at the Symphony: Bugs Bunny’s Greatest Hits!
An Instrument Petting Zoo immediately follows the concert lead by Auburn Symphony musicians and Placer High School Music students. Open to all ages, meet the musicians and try out an instrument!
Concert Length approximately 1 hour, with no intermission.
